Lady Gladiators watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 22-16 loss to Springbrook on Thursday. Springbrook scored on an error, a walk by A Ly, a walk by M Barnes, a walk by E Bandivadear, and a single by B Luksor in the first inning.
Libby Isaacson drove in four runners in the loss. Isaacson drove in runs on a single in the third and a home run in the seventh.
In the first inning, Springbrook got their offense started when an error scored one run for Springbrook.
Lady Gladiators scored four runs in the seventh inning. Lady Gladiators big bats were led by Kelli Taney, Isaacson, and Jeniffer Guandique, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Springbrook scored six runs in the seventh inning. Springbrook big bats were led by Barnes, Bandivadear, Luksor, A Johnson-Weider, and F Delorbe, who all drove in runs.
Luksor pitched Springbrook to victory. She lasted seven innings, allowing 12 hits and 16 runs while striking out seven.
Guandique got the start for Lady Gladiators. She allowed five hits and ten runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Andrea Vargas threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Lady Gladiators socked two home runs on the day. Isaacson had a long ball in the seventh inning. Taney went deep in the seventh inning.
Lady Gladiators collected 12 hits on the day. Isaacson, Sam Miranda, Vargas, and Aniya Sebens all managed multiple hits for Lady Gladiators. Isaacson led Lady Gladiators with three hits in five at bats. Guandique led Lady Gladiators with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 13 stolen bases.
Delorbe went 2-for-6 at the plate to lead Springbrook in hits.
