Lady Gladiators Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Springbrook

Lady Gladiators defeated Springbrook 28-14 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at 13 with Lady Gladiators batting in the top of the fifth when Jeniffer Guandique doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Kelli Taney collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Lady Gladiators to victory. Taney doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.
Lady Gladiators got on the board in the first inning. Lady Gladiators scored one run when Taney doubled.
After Lady Gladiators scored one run in the top of the third, Springbrook answered with one of their own. Lady Gladiators scored when Rafa Saleh reached on a dropped third strike.
Lady Gladiators scored 11 runs in the sixth inning. Taney, Libby Isaacson, Guandique, Saleh, Kenia Hernandez, and Sam Miranda powered the big inning with RBIs.
Springbrook scored six runs in the second inning. A Johnson-Weider, F Delorbe, R Davy, and A Ly all drove in runs in the frame.
Andrea Vargas was credited with the victory for Lady Gladiators. She lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs while striking out one.
B Luksor took the loss for Springbrook. She surrendered 28 runs on 21 hits over six innings, striking out five.
Guandique started the game for Lady Gladiators. She lasted one inning, allowing three hits and six runs.
Lady Gladiators scattered 21 hits in the game. Isaacson, Taney, Vargas, Aniya Sebens, Hernandez, Thania Argueta, and Guandique all managed multiple hits for Lady Gladiators. Isaacson led Lady Gladiators with five hits in six at bats. Lady Gladiators stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Hernandez led the way with three.
Springbrook tallied ten hits in the game. Delorbe, H Bedeso, Davy, and Luksor each racked up multiple hits for Springbrook. Luksor led Springbrook with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
