Hernandez Collects Four Hits As Lady Gladiators Defeats Kennedy

Kenia Hernandez didn’t feel much like getting out on Friday, tallying four hits and leading Lady Gladiators to a 27-17 win over Kennedy. Hernandez singled in the first, singled in the third, tripled in the fourth, and homered in the fifth.
Lady Gladiators collected 19 hits and Kennedy had three in the high-scoring affair.
Lady Gladiators opened up an early lead in the first inning when Hernandez singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
In the bottom of the second inning, Lady Gladiators tied things up at eight when Aniya Sebens reached on a dropped third strike.
After Kennedy scored five runs in the top of the fifth, Lady Gladiators answered with five of their own. Kennedy scored when P Raudales singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, E Villanueva singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and Andrea Vargas induced C Alvarez to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Lady Gladiators then answered when Vargas hit a solo homer, Thania Argueta doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Hernandez homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
Lady Gladiators took the lead for good with 12 runs in the third inning. In the third Sam Miranda homered on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs, Vargas homered on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, Argueta singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, Hernandez singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Libby Isaacson homered on a 2-2 count, scoring four runs.
Vargas got the win for Lady Gladiators. She lasted two innings, allowing two hits and five runs.
M Moran took the loss for Kennedy. She went four and a third innings, allowing 27 runs on 19 hits and striking out nine.
Jeniffer Guandique started the game for Lady Gladiators. She surrendered 12 runs on one hit over three innings, striking out two.
Lady Gladiators hit five home runs on the day. Isaacson went deep in the third inning. Hernandez had a dinger in the fifth inning. Vargas went yard in the third and fifth innings. Miranda had a four bagger in the third inning.
Lady Gladiators racked up 19 hits on the day. Hernandez, Vargas, Amy Lusignan, Miranda, Kelli Taney, and Argueta each had multiple hits for Lady Gladiators. Vargas and Hernandez each managed four hits to lead Lady Gladiators.
